The Pirton 6 Rs

Nuturing children to be Responsible Reflective Respectful Resourceful Resilient Ready

Welcome from the headteacher

On behalf of the staff and children, I would like to welcome you to Pirton School, a small school with a huge heart!

Our aim, in partnership with you as parents and families, is to achieve the best for your child, building on the skills which your child has learnt at home and pre-school settings, and working together to pursue the utmost further development in a happy, confident and successful manner.

Vision and Aims

The school community is proud of high achievement in an engaging setting, where children are excited, motivated and inspired by the outstanding learning opportunities they encounter.

Through a culture of excellence, built upon our school values, everyone will be able to fully succeed, develop and grow.

Values

One thing you will hear us talking about a lot is the ‘Pirton 6Rs’ values framework. It’s something we use to help pupils become well-rounded individuals who are resilient, ready, respectful, reflective, responsible and resourceful. These values are used daily throughout our whole school, in our learning and living.

School History

Our original school building was opened in 1877. However, formal education in Pirton began before this, growing out of the early straw plaiting schools which were started locally to meet the demands of the hat making industry, centred in Luton and Dunstable.
