Welcome to Falcons! The class have made a fantastic start to the summer term and we are looking forward to all the exciting learning ahead.
Falcons are taught by Mrs Nicole White, with TA support from Mrs Jo Scott and Mrs Allen. On Wednesday afternoons, Miss Sam McDonald teaches the class while Mrs White has her PPA time.
We have 28 children in our class. This includes all 13 Year 4 children in our school alongside 15 Year 5 children.
This term, we are continuing to support our Year 4 children with learning their multiplication facts up to 12 × 12. This is not only important preparation for the multiplication check later in the year, but also helps to build strong foundations in maths and develop fluency for more complex learning in the future.
We are also continuing to focus on reading, encouraging children to enjoy a wide range of texts. We believe it is just as important to read to learn as it is to read for pleasure, and we are supporting children to access both enjoyable stories and texts that challenge and extend their understanding.
Home learning remains an important part of our routine. Completing it each week helps to reinforce learning from the classroom and builds positive study habits that will support the children as they progress through school.
As always, you are very welcome to come and speak to us if you would like to discuss your child’s progress.
Thank you for your continued support. It makes a real difference, and we are looking forward to a successful and enjoyable term ahead.
