Friday 5th December 2025- STEM day and PSHE

Falcons took part in an exciting Road to RIAT STEM Day, where they explored a wide range of careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The children learned how people working in STEM roles use creativity, problem-solving and teamwork every day.

As part of the workshop, the class took on a hands-on challenge to design, make, test and evaluate their own flying inventions. They experimented with different materials, adapted their designs to improve flight, and discussed what made some models more successful than others.

Throughout the day, the pupils demonstrated excellent collaboration, resilience and critical-thinking skills. It was a fantastic experience that not only sparked curiosity about STEM careers, but also helped the children understand how these skills are used in real-world situations.

In Falcons, we have also been learning about the importance of relaxation as part of our PSHE lessons. We explored how taking time to relax can support both our mental health- by helping us manage emotions and reduce stress- and our physical health, by calming our bodies and improving focus. To put this into practice, we took part in a whole-class yoga session, where we learned simple stretches and breathing techniques to help us feel calm and refreshed.
