This week in Wrens we have loved celebrating world book day. It has been lovely to see all of the children so enthusiastic about books and coming into school dressed as their favourite characters or in their Pyjamas. Thank you to the parents for coming in to school to share books with the children in the morning. They loved it!
In Phonics this week we have learnt the phonemes (sounds) for the graphemes (letters) ow and oi. We have also been recapping the sounds previously learnt. It has been fantastic to see the children being responsible and reflective learners during our phonics lessons and they have been challenging themselves to write a sentence during the writing portion of the lesson.
In Maths this week we have been looking at number bonds to 10. We have also started to record number bonds to 10 in different ways. We used part part whole models and number sentences.
In Drawing club this week we have been looking at the book You Can’t Call an Elephant in an Emergency. We enjoyed drawing and writing about our own animals and whether they would be good at helping others if an emergency arises.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend!
