We have enjoyed the sunshine this week in Wrens! We joined singing assembly this week in preparation for our transition into Year 1 as the children will attend more assemblies when they move into year one than they do currently. We also attended a sight loss awareness assembly on Monday and in class we felt some braille and thought about other ways that people with vision loss could be supported.
In Phonics this week we have been learning new tricky words and revisiting the trigraphs taught in phase 3 phonics (igh, air, ure, ear).
In Drawing club this week, we wrote fantastic sentences using the word ‘because’. We really enjoyed our Drawing club text this week and we shared some fantastic ideas for our writing during our paired partner talk too.
In music this week we have continued to learn to play the glockenspiels and we have been playing along with Big Bear Funk! The children really love this songs and enjoy singing and dancing along! In our Welly Wednesday session this week we made houses and nests for the Penguin from our Drawing Club text and it was lovely to see the children work so well either independently or in small groups of their choosing.
I hope you all have a wonderful bank holiday weekend,
Mrs Chattey
