Magical Maths, The Gingerbread Man and Bird Feeders

It has been another packed week of learning in Wrens, we have done lots and lots of maths.  We have been learning about numbers to five and how they can be broken into smaller groups but still represent five.  We have also been learning about mass, using a balance scale to compare and measure the mass of classroom objects.  We discovered that sometimes big things are light and small things are heavy!

We have continued learning about traditional tales by learning and acting out the story of The Gingerbread Man.  In drawing club we have made up our own stories based upon The Snowman.  This week we have learned the sounds w and x.

We have also been thinking about birds that migrate in winter and we have made bird feeders for the birds that are in our playground.  We hope to see the birds enjoying them.  This weekend it is the RSPB Big Bird Watch, We have sent the information you need home so that families can take part.  Have fun.

Finally, thank you for the stunning wedding pictures, we enjoyed looking at these with Mrs Bates and will continue to learn about weddings over the coming weeks.
