Winter Walk

We enjoyed a winter walk to the Pirton Vicarage Nature Area this week, it was not far so we did not feel like we were traipsing.  We wrapped up warmly on a really chilly day and went out in search of signs that it is winter time.  On our way we practiced being safe while crossing the road.  We worked in small groups to look for signs from a checklist.  We managed to find most of them but not an umbrella, perhaps if there had been a blizzard we might have seen one, or a robin.  We think the robins must have fled because they thought we were menacing.  They were definately camouflaged or concealed.  Our drawing club book this week is Little Red Riding Hood and our words this week are traipse, crafty, disguised, concealed, menacing, rescue, flee and gratitude.  We are trying to use them in conversation.  We would like to show our gratitude to all of the volunteers that made the walk possible by giving up their time.  We are also very proud of the whole class for the resilience they showed in the cold.
