This week in Art, we have been exploring how we can mix different hues using primary and secondary colours. Swifts did a fantastic job of remembering the three primary colours and how these can be mixed to create secondary colours.
Swifts class experimented with different amounts of paint to create a variety of interesting hues. The children enjoyed seeing how small changes in the colours they mixed could create completely different shades.
The class gave their newly created hues their own creative names! The children came up with some imaginative names. They showed kindness to each other by sharing their creations and praising their peers.
It was fantastic to see Swifts experimenting confidently, talking about colour and developing their understanding of how artists can use colour mixing to create different effects. We are looking forward to building on these skills as we continue our Still Life unit.
Have a lovely weekend!
