In our art lesson this week, Kestrels explored techniques to get ready for making bell-beaker pottery. The children practised rolling the playdough into long, even coils and stacking them to make different shapes. They also tried making pinch pots by pressing and shaping with their fingers. The activities helped them build their hand skills, experiment with different shapes, and start to understand how pottery is made. They were encouraged to be creative while making sure their pieces were sturdy and balanced, which will help when we move on to our bell-beaker pottery projects.
