DT – Cooking methods – Thursday 2nd October 2025

This week in DT, we learned about different cooking methods, including boiling, roasting, air-frying, microwaving and oven baking.  We then used all of these methods to cook potatoes and then tasted them to see which we preferred.  We were very impressed with the children who decided to try some of the potatoes when they originally said that they did not want to.  Most of them thought they were delicious! The air-fried potatoes were the most popular.

 Next week, we will be making ratatouille!

We learned about hygiene and safety when preparing and cooking.

All children had a turn at either peeling or cutting a potato. 

Unfortunately we forgot to take photos of the potatoes but they looked something like these!
