In our second cooking lesson as part of our DT project ‘Cook well, eat well’, we made ratatouille! The children learned the names of the different vegetables – including aubergines and courgettes – and helped cut them up before we fried them and put them in a slow cooker with all the other ingredients. I was very impressed with the number of children who tasted the ratatouille even though they weren’t keen on the idea at first. It was not everyone’s favourite dish but some children really enjoyed it and it was fun to make! A big thank you to all the parents who supplied ingredients.
