Wow! What a great end to the Autumn term we have had. Wrens really enjoyed the Panto on Wednesday and have enjoyed making Christmas cards and writing their own letters to Santa this week. This half term we have met two of our curriculum ambitions of writing a letter and putting on a performance for others.
In Phonics this week we have been revisiting the tricky words learnt to date as well as all of the graphemes we have learnt to date. The children always make me so proud with their engagement and enjoyment in phonics lessons. Hearing them apply their phonics knowledge when reading and seeing ‘phonics click’ with them when they realise they can read words and sentences without support is definitely a highlight of my job.
In Maths this week we have been practising out counting and subitising again ready for our new White Rose Maths unit Alive in 5 which we will start in the Spring term.
Our timetable has been updated on our class webpage and PE will now take place on a Wednesday. Ms. Hannah Isher, the new PPA teacher for Wrens, will teach the PE lessons.
Thank you for the kind words and gifts. I hope everyone has a restful and enjoyable break!
Mrs Chattey
