In English, Swifts have been learning how to write expanded noun phrases to add more detail to their recounts. We have been using the wordless book Here I Am by Patti Kim, which has led to lots of rich discussion in class. Without words, the children have looked closely at the pictures and used them to inspire their writing. They have been learning how to describe things in more detail and choosing more interesting adjectives to make their writing more exciting.
