As part of an extracurricular offer this week, Kestrels were introduced to the basics of fencing. They learned the fundamental starting position, en garde, how to correctly put on the protective mask and jacket, and used a bendy rubber foil to practise controlled, light jabs to their opponent’s torso. The session also emphasised safety, coordination and respect for their partner, while helping pupils build confidence and develop their balance and reaction skills in an engaging and active environment

I enjoyed hearing about this on Friday, Kestrels, when I taught you after your fencing lesson. You certainly learnt a lot about a new sport. You will get to try fencing again in UKS2 on residential if not before!
