This week in Wrens we have enjoyed learning about the story of Jack and the Beanstalk during Drawing Club and have produced some amazing writing. We have continued to practise the races for our upcoming Sports Day and everyone is really looking forward to it.
In Phonics this week we have continued to read and write words with consonant blends and I have been amazed with the progress the children have been making. We have also been looking at alien words and everyone has enjoyed spotting the word cards that have a picture of an alien and then reading the nonsense words.
In Maths this week we have finished our unit on positional language, and we discussed how the position of an object relative to another can be different depending on your perspective. All the children in Wrens did really well with this and are beginning to be able to share their mathematical reasoning.
We also really enjoyed watching the Owls and Falcons production on Thursday. Thank you to all of the children and adults for their hard work putting on this production. It was fantastic!
On Friday afternoon we made our own magic beans based on Jack and the Beanstalk and took great care decorating the beans and talking about how plants grow.
We hope everyone has a lovely weekend,
Mrs Chattey and Miss Hughes

There’s a tall tree near my house and the earth at the base has been covered with beautifully painted and decorated stones. Maybe they were left by Jack before he planted his magic bean?!
The children in Wrens loved your comment and it got us thinking about other magic things we might look out for when we are out and about in Pirton.
