PGL day 4- 26.03.26

What a day!

We had an early breakfast and left for Longleat Safari Park at about 8.30am.

We arrived and after a very close encounter with a meerkat we headed straight for the rainbow lorikeet feeding. We held little pots of nectar, which they loved, and they flew around, landed on us and enjoyed the food. We then went on the sealion boat tour where we fed them sprats by throwing them into the water. They made very loud noises and loved being fed. We also saw gorillas outside enjoying the sunshine.

From there, we went for our education visit where we handled cockroaches, snakes, the giant snail and ferrets. This was a big hit! After that, it was lunch time and a play at a fantastic play park with some brilliant slides. After lunch the children were given a choice of a warm doughnut or two different ice creams which went down well!

We then explored different enclosures and saw a vast amount of animals including otters, koalas and crocodiles before heading on our road safari tour with a guide who told us some brilliant facts about all the different animals. We saw lions, tigers, cheetahs and lots more beautiful animals.

We went briefly back into the foot safari back – we rode the train, went in the bat cave and had a very quick play on the play area again before heading back to our coach. Our coach driver, Jason, commented that the children have been excellently behaved and when they sing, they sing in tune!

We had dinner where we had the choice of chicken curry, cheese and onion pie or vegetable fingers. We finished the day with a disco where there were some fantastic dance moves shown.

We are looking forward to laser tag and the giant swing tomorrow!
