Over the last two weeks we have worked incredibly hard to create some free verse poems. Throughout our unit we have developed our figurative language techniques, including the use of similes, metaphors, personification and onomatopoeia. We started by focusing on nature and wrote poems based on ones we had read in ‘Marshmallow Clouds’. Today we created poems around a variety of themes and performed them to the rest of the class. The vocabulary we used was exceptional! We are going to publish these on the chrome books and will make a poetry anthology to present to Miss Tuck (our new teacher) on transition day.
