Kestrels have really enjoyed working on poetry for the past couple of weeks. They particularly loved creating calligrams about their favourite animals and pets. This week they wrote free verse poems about the streets where they live, trying to use what they had learned about onomatopoeia (words that make the sound that they mean, such as ‘bang!’), commas in lists and expanded noun phrases.
