Falcons have enjoyed a number of science activities as part of Science Week, including a BBC live lesson about the Moon. We found out that the Moon is not a light source and watched an investigation that showed how it reflects light from the Sun.
Mrs Martin brought in her fossil collection to share with us. We learned how fossils are created when a creature dies and is covered by mud, which then turns to stone over millions of years. Over time, the skeleton of the animal is replaced by minerals, forming a fossil.
Mrs Martin showed us some interesting fossils that she and her family have found over the years, including a large ammonite, a piece of fossilised dinosaur rib and a large object which we realised was a piece of fossilised dinosaur poo- coprolite, to give it its proper name!
We also created posters to show how we imagine science and technology might change the lives of children in the future.
