We have had another lovely week in Wrens and enjoyed learning about Elmer in our Drawing Club lessons. Also, a thank you to everyone who has booked a parents evening for the coming weeks – I am really looking forward to sharing your child’s successes and next steps with you.
In Phonics this week we have learnt the phoneme (sound) for the grapheme (letter) g and o. I have been blown away by the children’s sounding out and blending when reading with me and Mrs Last this week. It is also lovely to see that so many children in Wrens are reading regularly at home. Please keep this up as it really helps your child. On November 11th I will be holding a parents information evening about reading and how to support your child if they are reluctant to read. These meetings will be at 3:30pm, 4pm and 4:30pm in Wrens Class.
In Maths this week we have been learning about the numbers 2, 3 and 4 and have been practising subitising and representing these numbers with objects.
In Drawing Club this week we have been learning about the story of Elmer and the children tried really hard to write the initial sound for one of the colours they could see on Elmer. I can’t wait for you to see your child/children’s Drawing Club book at parents evening.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend,
Mrs Chattey
