This week in science, we thought of some questions that would help us find out more about sensory loss.
One of our questions was, ‘how can you stay safe if you are blind?’ We experimented to find out what it would be like to be blind by working in pairs and blindfolding one person. The children found different ways of safely guiding their partner around the room. Some children found it easier to talk to their partner and others found it easier to physically guide them.
We also wondered how people communicate if they are deaf. We learnt some Makaton signs and practised the BSL alphabet.
